I am a highly motivated user experience designer with a broad skill set including hi and low fidelity wireframes, user testing and analysis, story boarding, prototyping, competitive analyses, stakeholder interviews, strategic planning and best practice recommendations from a usability/user experience perspective.
I thrive on solving problems and engineering solutions. My roles require multidisciplinary proficiency in interaction design and user experience design as well as project management, product development, and marketing/social media initiatives.
It's my belief that through great listening comes great advice and after listening to the user, I apply design thinking principles across all customer touch points to connect the business, to the product, to the user experience while working collaboratively to deliver a higher quality marketable product.
During my career I have been a part of several high-profile online initiatives optimizing user engagements for: Metlife, Aetna, Verizon, Verizon Wireless, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Car and Driver Magazine, Proctor & Gamble, UPN TV Network, Thomson Reuters, Nuance Communications, ESPN, Wynn Hotels, Playstation, Honey Dew Donuts, BJ's, Charter Communications, Boston University School of Medicine.Twitter Linkedin email@example.com
My techniques and solutions for telling user's stories
My role was a UX Designer at Tracelink and upon my first week of being part of the team I noticed that we did not have any established design standards to follow.
With having deep experience in building style guides and Atomic Design systems for Thosmon Reuters, BCBS & Metlife I approached the team with my idea to audit the UI and begin the process.
The thought process was to give incentives to Aetna Health members for healthy habits. I Empathized, Defined, Ideated, Prototyped and Tested all UX/UI related deliverables for the Aetna Carepass incentives program in collaboration with a Business Admin, Development team(on/off shore), Project Manager and key stakeholders.
My role was the Lead UX designer and produced the UX/UI related deliverables in collaboration with Development, a Project Manager and key BCBS stakeholders.
The task was to procreate a web portal enabeling all users from Providers to Individuals with the capability to create/register profiles, associate organizations, create/edit alerts, events, training and billing information..
Provider Central is designed to pass certain level of accessibility standards for color blindness and all facets of two rounds of usability testing and debriefs. At each deliverable stage of the project assets were hand sliced and delivered to the developers along with a detailed style guide and annotated comps.
Defined, iterated, presented all UX/UI related deliverables in collaboration with Development(on/off shore), Project Manager and key Verizon stakeholders.
Secure Universal Message Services (SUMS) for healthcare providers. A cloud-based platform designed to work as easily as email. by allowing providers to exchange clinical information in a secure, HIPAA-compliant manner through any web browser.
With SUMS, physicians, nurses, and other caregivers can send text-based messages and add attachments such as dictation files, radiology images, and lab results in a variety of file formats. Clinical Document Architecture (CDA), Continuity of Care Documents (CCDs), and HL7 files are all supported. EHR vendors will have access to API kits for integration with their products, as well.
Two-factor authentication adds a comforting layer of security to the system, and SUMS offers additional identity-proofing before allowing users to send the data, which is encrypted and recorded in electronic activity logs. SUMS will send information but isn't designed to store it. Doctors receive notification of a new message by text message, phone, or through email, and they can then log in to the browser-based portal and retrieve their communication.
My role was the Senior UX Specialist and produced the UX/UI related deliverables in collaboration with Development(on/off shore), a Project Manager and key Verizon stakeholders.
The Universal Identity Services(UIS) application is a security solution that facilitates strong authentication to web sites, applications and/or networks.
To use this application, you must first register for a Universal ID. During the registration process you will receive an activation code that is required to enable use of this application. Multifactor authentication verifies a user's identity by combining an individual's username/password with a device, mobile or desktop, which then generates a one-time password or biometric scan,(fingerprint recognition). Once authenticated, users can securely access web sites, corporate resources and even electronic medical records from their computer and iOS, Android, Windows or BlackBerry smartphone or tablet.
ExploraVision is the world’s largest K-12 STEM scholarship competition, challenging students to brainstorm and create inspiring technology and science projects to solve global issues.
Our goal is to create the world’s first intelligent wristband equipped with a Near-Infrared Spectrometer and Nano Hologram Technology.
Don’t have a Smartphone with you? No worry; SCANHOLO technology embraces the phone free lifestyle. Imagine people of all ages testing his or her food anywhere they want and instantly viewing the results.
Want to test for allergens, no problem, simply shine the light on the underside of the SCANHOLO wristband onto your food and within seconds a real life holographic interface of the scanned results emerges in the air above the band.
SCANHOLO empowers people of all ages living in fear from allergens hidden in foods and misleading packaging labels to eat freely again
SCANHOLO is an adaptive technology conceived from a blend of Wearable Devices, Spectrometers and Holographic technology.
My role was the Senior UX Specialist and produced the UX/UI related deliverables in collaboration with a Technical Architect, Development(on/off shore), a Project Manager and key Aetna stakeholders.
CarePass by Aetna is an online portal that allows users to access health data, provider data, medicine information, and more health information. The CarePass API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality and data from CarePass with other applications and to create new applications.
Some example API methods include retrieving claim information, searching and retrieving FDA and drug information, and accessing medicine pricing.
Designed the layout and visual signature while improving on functionality for the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBS) Provider Central web portal.

I participated and lead User Testing sessions in our lab on a weekly basis and used the feedback to ideate on new designs.
Designed the layout and visual identity for an iPad site while staying within the current Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBS) brand guidelines.
With creativity being an open slate, the solution was to create a concept that showcased the BCBS Mobile Services in a unique user focused experience demonstrating simplicity in today's latest tablet trends.
This site features custom functionality such as a rotating homepage slider, related content videos and a popover navigation with direct links to all the BCBS mobile apps currently available on the Apple Apps & Google Play Stores.
There is a need to develop an innovative app solution that increases Thalassemia patients (as well as their caretakers) ability to manage the disease effectively including monitoring/tracking of key parameters, treatment/medication adherence and recording of daily personal facts, which help patients live active lives despite their condition.
With this in mind myself and another business stakeholder set out to construct a validated submission for the contest.
The timeline was extremely short (7days) from start to submission.
We did not win the challenge but did receive an honorable mention and have the memories of long days and longer nights.

What my UX peers say about me
Travis has been a central part of my design team for the last 20 months while we added new capabilities to MetLife's online service experience and implemented a responsive retrofit. His broad skill set and experience made it possible for him to quickly gain an understanding of a rather complex set of deliverables. His methodical process made it easy for us to spot potential pitfalls early, stay organized, and deliver solid results. Working in collaboration and independently, he demonstrated a deep commitment to creating the best possible experience for our users, while also helping us move our design process forward.
Travis worked as a lead designer for a large portal redesign project which can be challenging as the role required working with multiple teams in different areas and on different levels. Confident, independent and personable, he was a pleasure to work with.
Travis brings freshness to every assignment he tackles. He is a talented art director with a deep understanding of the digital medium. His desire to do more than is expected makes him a great asset to any team.
Travis has a practical approach to his work and he excels at creating interaction designs to ensure a quality User Experience for a broad spectrum of users whether mobile or sitting in front of a desktop.
Travis is creative and knows the meaning of a deadline. While working with him for almost two years on a seasonal printing project, we have never had to worry about getting files on time, nor have we had any issues with the files he provides. It is a pleasure working with Travis.
Travis is a true 24/7 design professional. He throws himself 100% into everything he does, is energetic, professional and a real team player.
Leave some feedback on my solutions and process or maybe we can create together.
